Okay, I’m sorry, I promise I’ll shut up in a second but I just had to say. I am well aware that these awards are only for the county, for amateur productions, and I know a lot of people who think the whole thing is a bit cheesy considering we only do it because we love it, but I am not gonna lie and say ‘yeah but who gives a fuck anyway’ cos actually, I do.
It’s not even the winning an ‘award’, it’s the massive feeling of recognition of passion and hard fucking work. It reinforces my confidence in my abilities, makes me more sure in myself, and I don’t think anything that allows people to like themselves a bit more should be sneered at, no matter how little anyone else thinks of it.
It just feels like someone has said, ‘yep, you made the right decision, this is the right thing for you, keep going’.
